Although the increases in the cost of healthcare have slowed in recent years, the cost trend is still going in the wrong direction – up! Employers continue to be frustrated by the trends and continue to search for solutions. An important part of the search process is to first understand the data and then understand the available options for change. To address both facets of this process, at this February’s networking breakfast, The Central Penn Business Group on Health will host the PA Cost Containment Council’s Executive Director, Joe Martin, to give his perspective on costs in the region. Additionally, we will also feature a panel of area providers to discuss the role they are playing in helping employers address their cost and quality issues. The PA Health Care Cost Containment Council (
PHC4), an independent state agency, has long been a national leader in publishing health care quality and cost information. Attendees will learn about
PHC4’s work over the years, and be presented with cost and quality information for Central Pennsylvania - and where that fits in statewide. Senior Leadership from Lancaster General, Penn State Hershey,
Wellspan and
UPMC will also share the stage to address employer concerns.
