A Forum & A Voice

The Central Penn Business Group on Health's mission is to promote continuous improvement in the quality and cost of healthcare for our member companies, their employees and dependents.


Our vision is to provide a forum and a voice for the business community on healthcare through collaboration among stakeholders.


Our goal is to promote a collaborative dialogue among key stakeholders - business, healthcare providers, insurers, and brokers - to preserve the quality of care while also keeping healthcare affordable.

Educational Programs

The Central Penn Business Group on Health provides education on emerging trends and issues in healthcare through a series of seminars, networking conferences and online events. Central Penn Business Group on Health members attend our networking conferences free and our educational seminars at a reduced member rate.

Chronic Disease Management

In 2006, the Central Penn Business Group on Health launched ACTRx – a chronic disease, patient self- management program. Phase I of the program has focused on Diabetes and the program has demonstrated significant improvement in the health and well being of the employee participants and healthcare cost savings to the employers that are participating.

Annual Benefits Survey

In partnership with The Lancaster Chamber, the Central Penn Business Group on Health annually conducts a Health and Welfare Benefits Survey. The survey asks employers based in our seven county service area about the healthcare benefits they offer their employees and covered dependents. Areas of interest include the total cost of coverage, employee contribution levels, out of pocket costs, and other key design features. The results are reviewed at our annual Forecast Breakfast. These results include both regional and national benchmarks and provide employers valuable insights into the coverage details of packages offered by their peers and competitors. An executive summary of the survey is available to CPBGH members at no cost in the Members Only section of our website. Customized benchmarking reports are available to participating employers for a nominal fee.

Data Analytics

The Central Penn Business Group on Health in conjunction with our data analytics partner, Innovu, provides members with insights into the healthcare environment in our region through our Community Lens platform. Today, our data cohort covers over 80,000 lives from over 100 different employers with more employers being added weekly. Community Lens is just one of three views Innovu offers to customers. Employer Lens and Advisor Lens views are also available for a reasonable cost.

The Board of Directors of the Central Penn Business Group on Health supports providing all healthcare purchasers with the information they need and the appropriate incentives to choose the right care at the right price in the right setting. To that end, CPBGH is focused on bringing together all of the stakeholders to discuss achievement of this goal. The team meets regularly to address the ever-changing complexities associated with the process of receiving care.
